An Invitation from the Private Sector

We at SEEDUtah invite community leaders from across the state to join with the private sector and focus our combined energies and resources on stimulating the expansion of entrepreneurism within your respective communities. We believe that the backbone of Utah's economy has been, and through this effort will continue to be, the high growth businesses created by Utah's entrepreneurial talent.

Your Private Sector Partners

Grow Utah Ventures and our private sector partners are committed to fostering and creating high growth start-up businesses that are the work product of Utah's talented entrepreneurs.

We are committing our funds to a selected group of Utah communities. Our funds are offered as a financial incentive to encourage you as a community leader to match what we offer with public funds and use them to support and expand future business growth in your region by becoming a more "entrepreneurial friendly" community.

The combined pool of SEEDUtah funds will result in over $1million dollars dedicated to stimulating the expansion of entrepreneurism in Utah.

Funds for Strategizing

For those communities that participate in this program, these funds will be used first to develop a comprehensive strategy designed to determine how best each community can foster entrepreneruism and stimulate business growth. The strategy will also coordinate the various resources available within the community and focus them on entrepreneurial initiatives that truly make a difference.

Communities will be guided in their strategy and planning efforts by the entrepreneurial expertise of the senior leaders from Grow Utah Ventures. Using Grow Utah Ventures proprietary strategy methodology each community will discover their most significant areas of new business creation and will design custom strategies to achieve their success.

Funds for Implementation

In the second phase private funds will also be contributed to implement programs and efforts of merit that the community has identified as critical to their strategy.

Communities Selected to Participate

Communities will be chosen to participate in SEEDUtah on a selective basis. Those communities chosen will have demonstrated strong local leadership that recognizes the need to foster entrepreneurism as a key component of their overall economic growth strategy.

Communities interested in requesting consideration should complete the attached request form and submit it to the address indicated. (See SEEDUtah Request for Funding PDF)

Supportive Partners

SEEDUtah is endorsed and supported by the Governors Office of Economic Development and the Economic Development Corporation of Utah.

SEEDDixie- First Project

The first community to participate in SEEDUtah is Washington County. Under the leadership of the Washington Economic Development Council and the Dixie Business Alliance, this community has launched SEEDDixie. The Strategic Planning phase of this project will be completed in March 2007.
